Jim Harbaugh: The Man Behind the Chargers' Super Bowl Aspirations

Football became a passion for Harbaugh at Palo Alto High School (California) and it was there he made his name, just as he did at the University of Michigan from 1982-86. A Heisman Trophy winner and a star on the college level, he spent eleven seasons playing in the NFL as quarterback for teams such as Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, and Dallas Cowboys.

Coaching Stints

After his on-field days were done, Harbaugh proved to be equally effective as a coach at Stanford (head coach, 2007–10) and later as the head man of the San Francisco 49ers (2011-14). The 49ers were where his résumé began to take form, as he led the team to Super Bowl XLVII for more validation as one of the NFL's best coaches.

Triumph at Michigan

Harbaugh then spent the 2015 season back at his alma mater, as head coach of Michigan, leading the Wolverines to a multitude of successes culminating in an unforgettable 15–0 national championship-winning season this past year in 2024.
