Julien Simon is set to bring some much-needed versatility to USC football
Julien Simon has been silently working on his game behind the sidelines. Now, he’s ready to show the whole world what he’s capable of.
The 6'2", 220-lb. wide receiver/linebacker out of Tacoma, Washington is ready to make some noise for USC Trojans football. Julien Simon, after all, is a multi-talented dynamic athlete who can play on both sides of the ball at any level.
We saw a glimpse of his well-rounded skillset back in high school, where he made the 2020 PrepStar Dream Team and Southern California News Group Fab 15 second team as a senior linebacker. The Fan Arch athlete even had stints playing wide receiver and running back at Lincoln High. He was rated as the No. 5 athlete in the nation and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Washington.
Julien Simon will be sticking to his position as a full-time inside linebacker for the Trojans. The entire USC community rejoiced after getting his commitment back in 2020, edging out other Pac-12 programs like Washington, Washington State, Oregon, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Stanford, and Utah.

— Julien Simon (@_JulienSimon) May 10, 2020While Julien Simon admitted that he was intrigued by the other offers, he explained why USC was still the best choice for him.
"It was the best opportunity for myself. Getting offers from places doesn't mean it [is] the best opportunity for you. I found it was the right fit for myself, really that is the biggest thing,” Julien Simon said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
"I just thought nobody could compare to USC and what the fit for me was,” he added.
Julien Simon also built a rapport with USC cornerbacks coach Donte Williams, and was also one of the biggest reasons he joined the Trojans.
Well done, coach!

Julien Simon got a taste of some college football action last year when he played limited minutes in two games on the special (BYU and California). He enters the 2022 season as a redshirt freshman, eager to prove he belongs in this stage. Julien Simon’s biggest strength is his versatility, which should set him apart from USC’s other linebackers.
While the defense will be his focal point, Julien Simon already proved he does bring production and potential on offense as well.
