Shamima Begum Husband: Meet Yago Riedjik

Shamima Begum-Shamima Begum was born on August 25th, 1999 in England. She is a British-born woman who entered Syria to join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) at the age of 15.
She received her secondary education at Bethnal Green Academy and was reared as a Muslim in the Bethnal Green neighborhood of Tower Hamlets in East London.
In February 2015, at the age of 15, she and her pals Kadiza Sultana and Amira Abase departed the UK. To join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Syria, they traveled through Turkey.
Begum’s family expressed optimism shortly after she left that she and her schoolmates had visited ISIL territory just to bring back their non-related friend Sharmeena Begum, who had visited there in 2014.
Begum married Dutch-born Yago Riedijk, an Islam convert who landed in Syria in October 2014, ten days after landing there. Due to her age at the time of the marriage, it’s possible that it won’t be recognized by Dutch law.
All three of her children, the youngest of whom was born in a camp for refugees in February 2019 and passed away from a lung infection in March 2019 died at a young age.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Begum worked as a “enforcer” for ISIL’s “morality police” and actively sought out additional young ladies to join the extremist org anization. She gained a reputation for being a harsh enforcer of ISIL’s policies, including the dress code for women, and was given permission to carry a Kalashnikov gun.
According to additional charges, Begum allegedly stitched suicide explosives into explosive vests so they could not be removed without detonating, an anti-ISIL activist told The Independent.
Josh Baker, an investigative journalist, retraced Begum’s steps through Turkey in 2022 and found the extensive ISIS people-smuggling network that made her journey to Syria possible.
Also, he was given access to hundreds of pages of classified documents on the trafficker, which proved Mohammed Rashed, the man at the center of the network, was running an intelligence operation.
Richard Kerbaj’s book The Hidden History of the Five Eyes, which was independently released in August 2022, asserted that Mohammed Rashed, who aided her travel to Syria, was sending information to Canada intelligence, which was known to Metropolitan Police.
British and Canadian authorities did not accept this link. Rashed assisted persons in traveling to Syria to work for the Islamic State by providing information about the organization to the Canadian security service.
The timing of events was verified, according to Kerbaj, who claimed to have spoken with numerous Canadian intelligence agents.
