Dec. 14 Update

The owner of the Union Block building provided structural fix plans, which the City of Boise's outsourced review engineer evaluated and required corrections.

The City is waiting for the final report from the outsourced engineer with findings to deem the building unsafe. In the meantime, the owner of the Union Block Building appealed the decision of the City to close it down.

Original story

Taylor Law Offices, PLLC, was retained by Mai Thai and Moon's Kitchen Cafe in connection with the recent closure of their businesses due to Union Block's failure to make necessary repairs.

Taylor Law Offices says they are working to ensure their clients' rights are protected throughout the challenging situation and hopes the community will continue its support of these local businesses until they can reopen their doors.

This is a developing story. CBS2 will add an update when more information is available.
