Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s children were recently featured in Beyoncé’s Hall of Ivy collection in collaboration with Adidas.

Spitting images of their parents, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe (aged 22) and Deacon Reese Phillippe (aged 18) were photographed in patterned and textured clothing to promote the singer’s latest fashion collection.

The siblings took part in a seventies-style photoshoot and were excited to be part of the launch.

As their mother revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show,

“They got to be on set with her and her kids and of course…They were just blown away. They nearly passed out they were so excited.”

Who Is Deacon Reese Phillippe?

In 1997, sparks flew between up-and-coming actress Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe on her 21st birthday.

The pair starred together in Cruel Intentions a year later and married in an intimate ceremony in June 1999.

Their daughter Ava Elizabeth was three months later, and son Deacon Reese came in 2003.

Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe formally separated in October of 2006, with the actress filing for divorce a month later.

The former couple shares joint custody of their children, and their divorce was granted in June 2008.

As per the joint custody arrangement, Phillippe split his time between his parents and regularly posts photos from both households on social media.

His sister began modeling in her teens, and Phillippe chose to follow suit when he was still a teenager.

His Father’s Döppleganger

Both Reese and Ryan often share pictures of their children on social media, and their respective followers could not help but notice that both children are the perfect mini-me’s.

In response to being told his son looks exactly like him, Ryan told E!:

“Obviously, there is a father-son resemblance, but he actually looks a lot more like Reese’s side of the family. Ava looks more like mine.”

While Witherspoon and her daughter love posting photos together on Instagram, enjoying the plethora of comments that repeatedly mention that the two look like twins, Ryan said the family often debates who looks like which parent.

“Quite often, the interpretation in the media is that she looks exactly like her mom and he looks exactly like me, but I think we both feel differently about it.” he told the magazine.

The actor even joked that Deacon was much better-looking than he is.

Deacon Phillippe – Music Producer

Unlike his parents, Phillippe prefers to remain behind the scenes when it comes to his career outside the realm of modeling.

Producing under the brand name Deacon, Phillippe began producing music.

His first single, ‘Long Run,’ featured vocals by Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt and was released in September 2020.

In a profile in Interview Magazine, Phillippe recalled his exploration into the industry, which he can be thankful to his father for.

“When I was listening to the radio in the car with my dad, something just clicked,” Phillippe said. “I realized there’s more to making music than just being a vocalist, and that a lot of times it’s the production that makes me feel something. I asked my dad about how it works, and he taught me all the stuff he knew, and then I started watching YouTube videos.”

During his isolation last year, he took the skills he picked up from the content he consumed to begin the process of creating music digitally.

Believing he has too much of a teenage voice, Phillippe opted to reach out to singers who wanted to participate in his newly-developed electropop style, catching the attention of fellow producer Kygo and singer Nesbitt.

The song quickly made the top 20 on iTunes, and it was decreed that the young producer had a long and successful career ahead of him.

Phillippe told Interview he was planning on sticking with writing and producing when it came to music but was not opposed to giving acting a shot.

Being the son of world-renowned actors has had its challenges, and the reservations Phillippe has about the industry are understandable.

“From the time I was really young, I remember paparazzi being around. I don’t really know what it’s like not to be seen by the public.” he admitted.

Family Support Means Everything

Phillippe spoke candidly about his appreciation for the support he receives from his family members.

After the release of his second single, ‘Love For The Summer’ in October 2021, Phillippe opened up about the love he receives from family when working in the family’s Nashville home.

Phillippe starred in the video for ‘Long Run,’ telling Billboard that he received tips from his parents before his digital acting debut.

“They’re so supportive, always. I couldn’t have a more supportive family. I’m just really lucky that they also inspire me creatively and help me with whatever they can. When I make songs, the first people I show them to are my mom, my dad, my brother, and my sister.”

Considering Phillippe records from a makeshift studio in his mother and stepfather’s basement, it is no surprise that the Oscar-winner has some feedback for her son to consider.

“It’s funny, because my studio is in my mom’s house, and a lot of the time it can get really loud. I’m sure they can hear it from upstairs, but they bear the sound annoyances, and they’ll still come down and tell me what they think of each song. My mom likes to tell me what her favorite song of mine is, and that’s really helpful, because she has good taste.” he stated.

Phillippe’s connection to his mother’s taste in music stems from her Academy Award-winning role as June Carter in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line.

The legendary singer is one of her son’s musical inspirations, and there is no denying the actress is one of the go-to sources for all things Johnny Cash.

Deacon Phillippe’s Social Media Is A Love Letter

Unlike other Hollywood star-kids, Phillippe posts more about his family than himself or his latest endeavors.

Aside from photos with his girlfriend, beauty Youtuber Marine DeGryse, the music producer posts pictures with his sister and their two half-siblings, regularly expressing his love and appreciation for his extended family.
