Today show: Karl Stefanovic teases Allison Langdon is 'pregnant'

Today presenter Karl Stefanovic is never one to shy away from teasing fellow anchor Allison Langdon live on-air.

But the host may have taken things a little too far on Wednesday, as he joked his co-host was expecting ‘baby number three’ in front of the nation.

Allison, 42, had been reading out an introduction on the teleprompter which read: ‘From sleepless nights to inquisitive toddlers, life gets pretty hectic when baby number two arrives!’

Without warning, Karl exclaimed: ‘Ally’s expecting… a boy!’

‘It’s number three!’ she giggled alongside him, placing a hand on her stomach.

‘Yay! No one knew. Ahh. Round of applause for Ally!’ Karl laughed, to which Ally continued: ‘It’s a big moment, right?’

‘Another immaculate conception!’ Karl laughed, leaving Ally hysterical.

The duo then continued with their news report on family well-being.

Allison shares son Mack, five, and daughter Scout, two, with her husband Michael Willesee Jr.

Michael used to be a journalist and TV producer but is now an executive at Westpac.

Allison recalled how she first met her now husband during a candid interview with Show+Tell last year, saying she was struck by an ‘overwhelming physical attraction’ to him after meeting at a bar in 2006.

She said that after her pals had asked how the two met, she told them: ‘We were at a bar and I said this guy walked in, he had this red T-shirt and dark jeans.

‘You know when you just had that moment where you have just like an overwhelming physical attraction to someone… I just got hit by this.’

However, she later added that Mike denied he’d ever owned a red T-shirt in his life.

‘I finished telling the story and Mike came up to me, and he goes, ‘I’ve never owned a red T-shirt!’ she laughed.

Host Kate ‘Monty’ Dimond asked if she had recalled a different guy from that evening, and Allison replied: ‘I keep telling him that my soulmate is still out there!’

But the presenter was adamant the man in the red shirt was her husband, saying: ‘It was him, it was absolutely him, but he said he was wearing a navy shirt that night.’

The pair tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Noosa in 2008.
