Is the Strictly results show live? The secret behind Sunday's Strictly Come Dancing results and danc
It’s become a regular part of the week for Strictly fans. Watching the competitors go toe-to-toe on Saturday nights before picking up the phone and voting for their favourites.
But a lot of people have been asking the same thing about Sunday night’s results show. Is it really live?
The answer is no, it isn’t. In fact, the Sunday night results show is filmed on a Saturday night, a few hours after the main show goes out.

That also means that if you’re casting your vote on a Sunday, you’re wasting your time (and money!).
Though the BBC has never claimed or told audiences that Sunday’s show is live, there’s an air of deception about some of the tricks to keep the show fresh.
For example, the judges all change their outfits, even though the show is filmed on the same day as the main competition on Saturday.
Dan Walker is also present in the show, despite his religious beliefs dictating that he cannot dance on Sundays (or do anything else such as play football). That’s because the show is pre-recorded on a Saturday.

And it seems the format isn’t a hit with everyone. Strictly Come Dancing fans are calling for a change to the Sunday night results show, saying it should be moved to Saturday night instead.
The Strictly results shows are pre-recorded on Saturday nights and shown on Sunday nights, but leaks from the studio via the hashtag #StrictlySpoiler mean people often find out who has been eliminated from fans in the audience watching the competition the night of recording.
Miss Ash posted on social media saying the BBC were ‘pretending’ when it came to the results show and dubbed it ‘pointless’.
One person who criticised a page which reveals the spoiler tweeted: “They can’t wait like everyone else until tomorrow to find out who is voted off they have to ruin it for people.”
Another person asked the Beeb: “Can Strictly Come Dancing stop this charade of pretending that the results are live when it was filmed last night?”
