Face of Poseidon seems to appear on a giant wave during a thunderstorm
THE face of Poseidon seems to appear on a giant wave during a thunderstorm.
The Greek sea god’s features, seen in a statute below, could be picked out after the gush of water hit a sea wall.

The photograph was taken on Tuesday as winds reached more than 50mph at high tide.
Photographer Jeff Overs took the stunning shot at Newhaven, East Sussex.
The snapper said: “It’s become a popular location for photographers because the sea ‘boils’ in high wind against the sea wall.
“The waves splash into the high wind and when blown back occasionally make patterns that look like pareidolic ghoulish faces.
“It’s a straight shot and I haven’t manipulated the image at all.”
The sighting is an example of pareidolia – when we see things that aren’t there.
Popular examples are the Man in the Moon or Jesus in the clouds.
