A nursing home worker pushed an old man, and her actions were exposed to social media. Now she could face criminal charges.

A video posted on Facebook shows how a senior citizen is mistreated by a woman who worked in a residence that is supposed to take care of elders in Uruguay.

The situation took place in a geriatric in San Carlos, located on Agraciada Avenue 2911 in the city of Montevideo.

"Go upstairs, go to bed" shouted insistently the protagonist of the video, while pushing the old man through several rooms to climb a flight of stairs.

The grandfather kept repeating “leave me alone” and put up resistance to her abuse because the woman was using her strength against him.

The clip went viral on social media and users did not hesitate to express their views on the unfortunate incident.

Mary Rodriguez wrote: "Poor grandparents, they raise their children depriving themselves of so many things so that later they throw them there to be mistreated."

Patry Gómez said: "Working with grandparents is a job of high human quality. That woman is a bug, I say, a beast. That’s sad."

While user Eva Teles added: "You're going to be old and they'll treat you the same or worse for being such a bad person."

Montevideo Portal reported that the owners of the residence had taken measures after watching the video. The worker was fired from her position and reported to the 7th Police Station.

The person who filmed the video explained that the situation was recorded five months ago and that she only recorded but did not inform the authorities about the aggression.

The owners of the residence hope that the Office of the Prosecutor will summon those involved in the incident and that the case will not go unpunished.

Unfortunately, this woman is not the first caregiver that gets caught mistreating a patient at a nursing home.

Last year, Salim Younes's father, Hussein Younes, complained to him about the treatment he was receiving in his nursing home.

Hussein claimed that while he was recovering from surgery at the nursing home, he was slapped by his caregivers across the head before they threw him onto the bed using "racial slurs" against him.

After Salim asked for an explanation, the nursing home claimed they launched an investigation and found no evidence of the abuse. Salim was unsatisfied by this result, especially since his father continued to complain.

Soon afterward, he noticed that Hussein had numerous cuts and bruises on his body.

The nursing home was not going to do anything about it, so instead the family hid a secret camera in Hussein's room. As a result, they recorded some disturbing footage of the staff mistreating the weakened senior.

It is believed that the abuse was racially motivated, as one of the clips allegedly shows one of the nurses praising US President Donald Trump and his plans to deport all Arabs from the United States.

The family is started a civil lawsuit against the facility and its parent company, Southfield-based Ciena Healthcare, for the treatment Salim said his father received.
