The tributes for Chadwick Boseman continue to pour in from all corners of the world, and now include a poster created by Marvel's head of visual development.
It has now been over a week since the acting world was rocked by the revelation that Chadwick Boseman had passed away. The reveal also came with the news that Boseman had been battling colon cancer for the past four years, succumbing to the disease ten days ago following its progression from stage three to stage four.
That means Boseman would have been undergoing operations and chemotherapy while working on movies like 21 Bridges, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame. Tributes to the 43-year-old actor have been pouring in ever since news of his passing was revealed to the world, including touching words from some of the heroes he shared a screen with in the MCU.
Marvel has also been paying homage to Boseman in a number of ways. First via a video featuring some of its other heroes as well as Boseman himself, and now via an incredible poster. The poster, which can be seen below, was put together by Ryan Meinerding Marvel Studios' head of visual development. It features Boseman as Black Panther front and center, the role he will be remembered for most.
The poster also features an image of Boseman from his commencement speech at Howard University. Boseman spoke at the ceremony in 2018 so again, he would have been battling cancer at the time while only those closest to him will have known about it. We're unsure yet what Marvel's plans for the poster are beyond sharing it on social media. We're sure a lot of fans would love to own a copy of it in the future.
We're also unsure in what other ways Marvel will pay tribute to Boseman going forward. It's also unclear what will happen to his Black Panther character in the MCU. That is way in the back of most people's minds right now, although some have already said that it wouldn't be right for Marvel to simply recast the Avenger.
