Mark Wahlberg Reduces Asking Price As Bel-Air Mansion Wont Sell

July 2024 · 2 minute read

Mark Wahlberg is taking drastic measures to sell his Beverly Hills mansion – including lowering the asking price by nearly $10 million.

According to PEOPLE, Mark originally listed the property earlier this year for $87.5 million. But when it failed to sell after eight months, he reduced the listing price to $79.5 million.

He may not make as much as he hoped to, but if the actor’s property sells, it’s going to be a ground-breaking deal.

Should the estate sell for its current asking price, that would place it in the top five most expensive homes sold in Southern California in 2022. Its size may explain the price – with over 30,500 square feet of living space, it’s the seventh largest home to exist in L.A. County.

The home comes with 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms and sits on 6.2 acres of land.

Presenting the premiere estate in North Beverly Park, the most exclusive gated community on the West Coast,” the listing says. “30,500 square feet with 12 bedrooms, 20 baths and set on an incredible 6.2 acres with unrivaled athletic facilities this Richard Landry designed chateau would be hard to duplicate today simply due to the lack of parcels this large.”

The home’s features include a movie theatre, professional gym, wine and cigar cellar as well as a tasking and smoking lounge. It also has a separate prep kitchen, accommodations for staff, and offices.

The outdoor amenities also aren’t lacking. The property features a 5-hole golf course, a gold driving range, a skate park, a tennis court, a grotto pool, a guest house, and manicured gardens.

The listing describes it as living in “your own private country club.”

Mark built the property from the ground up after buying the land in 2009 for $8.25 million. Construction was completed in 2014.

Mark has made several real estate investments in the last year, explaining his desire to get rid of his mega mansion. The actor bought a 2.5 acre parcel of land in Las Vegas in August for $15.6 million in the exclusive Summit Club community.

The same month, Mark bought a $14.5 million also in Las Vegas, where he and his family will likely stay while their other property is built. The new buy features over 7,300 square feet of living space, including 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
