Ubisoft details Season Pass for South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Video game tie-ins to movies or shows are frequently disappointing; studios looking to profit off of the free marketing of already-popular media contract unknown or relatively inexperienced developers to cobble together a game with limited funding and low passion for the project. It's a tale as old as the industry itself, and while occasional gems will still surface, it's rare for something like the South Park franchise to do anywhere near as well as it has.

And yet here we are; South Park: The Stick of Truth is one of the most popular games in Ubisoft's catalog, while the impishly-named sequel looks to be of a similar caliber. South Park: The Fractured But Whole is set to launch next week on October 17th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. As part of the game's marketing campaign, Ubisoft recently released details on its Season Pass.

So far we have:

Relics of Zaron - A small, day-one DLC release that will grant players access to an in-game outfit and a perks pack.
Towelie: Your Gaming Bud - "An in-game buddy giving tips," which honestly sounds like South Park's take on Microsoft's Clippy. Just like the above, Towelie will be available the day the game releases for Season Pass buyers.
Danger Deck - A larger mode which Ubisoft describes as "the ultimate combat challenge," where players will face off against Doctor Timothy for special rewards in the form of costumes and artifacts. Danger Deck will launch as a $5.99 purchase sometime this December.
From Dusk 'till Casa Bonita - A story pack in which players will team up with both The Coon and Mysterion to defeat demons that have infested the fabled Casa Bonita theme park. This DLC pack is due for a release sometime in 2018, when it will be available for $11.99.
Bring the Crunch - This pack introduces another new, as-of-yet unknown story and a mysterious new superhero - though, judging from the name, Mint-Berry Crunch is probably a safe bet. Similarly to the above, this DLC is set to launch in 2018 for $11.99.

All of the above content will be available as either separate purchases or "free" for Season Pass holders, which itself costs $29.99. South Park: The Fractured But Whole, meanwhile, will launch next week for $59.99. For those who haven't had a chance to try out the first game, pre-ordering this title will come with a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth.
