Former celebrity mentor on 'The Voice' and country-pop singer Kelsea Ballerini will be standing in for Kelly Clarkson in the next episode

Next week when fans tune into 'The Voice' they won't get to see Kelly Clarkson's trademark broad smile. Instead, they will see country-pop singer Kelsea Ballerini standing in for Kelly. In case you're wondering why Kelly will be lying low so early in the season, she is unfortunately not keeping the best of health. 

While fans will definitely miss Kelly, Kelsea certainly has a lot of experience being a mentor on 'The Voice'. She served as a fifth coach for singers on the 'Comeback Stage' segment on Season 15 and was Team Kelly's celebrity mentor during Season 16.

Kelsea is, of course, an accomplished singer and songwriter whose singles such as 'Love Me Like You Mean It', 'Dibs' and 'Peter Pan' have been chartbusters that have put her in the same league as musicians like Wynonna Judd and Carrie Underwood.

Many on Instagram were concerned about what made Kelly ill in the first place. One fan on Instagram said, "I feel so bad for Kelly !!!
