General Gatot Nurmantyo (born March 13, 1960) is the commander of Indonesian National Military who formally served since 8 July 2015. Previously, Gatot is the 30th Army Chief of staff that will take office as from July 25, 2014 after being appointed by President Yudhoyono to replace General Budiman. He previously functioned as the commander of army strategic command, replacing Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir. In June 2015, he was proposed by the president as a candidate Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces replacing General Moeldoko being entered full-time devotion.

Nurmantyo joined other government officials as well as social activists in a march to support religious tolerance during the Jakarta November 2016 protests. Alongside Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Indonesian National Police Tito Karnavian and Islamic activist Yenny Wahid, he led public support of interfaith unity as a counterbalance to earlier protests against Jakarta's Christian governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama which included elements of extremism.
