Saira Khan was born on 15th May 1970, In Long Eaton, Derbyshire, England, where another BBC journalist Wendy Hurrell was also born. Born to her Pakistani parents Jan Mohammed Khan and Hanifa Khan, she is of Asian ethnicity and holds dual nationality (British-Pakistani).
